Greetings,

As I've stressed before in Refocused, this website will always be a work in progress and will therefore continue to exist in so far as it serves its purpose of agressively pushing an agenda of black unity first and foremost, of fomenting an environment of infinite possiblities, of enlightening many of our people and other passer-byes to the plight of our shared socio-politcal systems around the world in desperate need of an overhaul. And while this website may lack some artistic flare, it will nevertheless dare to challenge the status quo of an impotent and hopeless response to the serious shortages of black leadership on very substantive issues.

In my humble opinion there are those far more suited to the task of designing and maintaing a website - to be sure - but self-preservation  has eclipsed their concern for the collective, not just them but for many of you reading this now. To borrow a phrase by the late great Frank Herbert: You are concerned about a pebble in your shoe, while we seek to avoid the rock slide. So it falls to me and a few others to begin much of the foundational work for something much greater... at least for now.

Today's change will be the elimination of the spanish blog. I will graft certain portions of it into the Diaspora blog. I've come to this decision after having spoken with quite a few black Latinos many of which are hell-bent on believing that racism & black unity are non-issues for them.  This is what they say: En America latina avanzamos mas alla de ello, a diferencia de ustedes - In Latin America we've advanced far beyond that, unlike yourselves. Nothing could be further from the truth! They adamantly believe this when the entire weight of statistical analysis is to the contrary; why, even empirical evidence sides with us! We should not expect much of any partnering with them as they are not generally interested, in fact we should be cautious or maybe even suspicious of feigned interest, fearing infiltration and sabotage, but we're a long way from that.  Yet still, we will try for them.

In the event that we somehow generate enough buzz and clamor for an independantly dedicated site in the blogosphere for the awareness and uplift of black latinos here and in the Iberian Nations, I will leave open the option of its return.
