This is a gutsy move for the little guy, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. I don't care what anyone says about him now, his stock has definitely gone up a couple of points, especially in the the eyes of lesser known countries who seek a new go-to-guy alternative. Anyone who can stick it to the big boys in the west and live to tell about it is bound to be one of growing influence. Incidentally, Brazil  fares better than most in this downturn because of its well-regulated financial sector and has recently discovered oil reserves off its coast, which it is sure to exploit as soon as it is economically feasible. Anyway, it's good too hear someone speak up on behalf of the little people. Kudos to you President Lula da Silva.
