I have a special appreciation for those of us that have decidedly forged ahead with dogged determination in learning other languages, especially ones commonly perceived as being too difficult.  The undertaking of a foreign tongue cultivates the mind, character, and sometimes even the soul.  It enables you to begin to value and understand to a certain degree other cultures, affording you greater insight, respect, and admiration.
