There aren't many people for whom I am easily compelled to extol...maybe to an almost shameless degree of childlike gleefulness. I've never met him, and yet I feel like I know him so well through his work. His greatest legacy, The Dune Chronicles, will doubtless be read by generations to come. I think the most notable quality of his comprehensive work is his easy explanation of the intricacies and interrelatedness of all the major industries/factions of life and the politics behind which they are so often concealed, that presumably "lesser peoples" might never perceive of the sinister ulterior motives by their "betters".He was my Prometheus in the sense that he got me to make a habit out of being curious enough to question & research. I hope a few more of you out there might also come to discover the great depth of his intellect and philosophical curiosity so richly embedded in the tapestry of his uniquely written stories. (Ok, so I'm a big fan!) You'll soon understand the desperate need for checking executive power, which so often tends to aggregate into fewer and fewer hands. So question your leaders, whoever they are (clergy, alderman, or even your own parents), albeit with deference.
