I've always been a big fan of 80's music. I grew up listening to this stuff; I saw my parents dance together in the living-room to this music and then invite me and my siblings to join them when they saw us laughing. I have fond memories of those times; things were much simpler in the age of innocence and the music reflected that in more ways than one. These days however,  it seems all are born guilty. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the 80's constitute a significant part of my DNA. Unlike any era before or since, the 80's unleashed a phenomenon of real human talent with just the right combination of sound-machine produced music. While some  musical selections of today are pleasing to the ear, very little remains authentic...even the voices of today's artists are suspect - not to mention the overtly crass and salacious lyrics.

As a sometimes helpless (certainly not hopeless) romantic, I can easily relish songs like Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere, Nick Gilder's Hot Child in the City, and Heart's These Dreams. So, it's established: I am a confessed aficionado of 80's music, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the harmonious notes of other genres. My personal collection includes music from across the globe, literally.
